Slums Dunk Nets from Mathare are the inaugural Junior NBA Kenya League champions.
Nets defeated Family Kenya Warriors 37-16 in an exciting final at African Nazarene University Gymnasium on Saturday.
Lovings Otieno scored a game-high 10 points for Nets' win, who had a 26-7 halftime lead. They easily won all quarters; 16-5, 10-1, 14-0, 7-9.
Otieno was voted the Most Valuable Player (MVP) during the three-month U-14 boys' basketball league, where 30 teams took part.
The final was graced by two-time NBA winner and Golden State Warriors power forward James Michael McAdoo, NBA Africa Vice President Amadou Gallo and former five-time World Cross Country Champion Paul Tergat.
"I came here to advise and support these children because I believe we should lay emphasis on developing all sports," said Tergat. "This is the only way we will win more medals at the Olympics."
McAdoo told the players to establish strong work ethics and be dedicated to the game.
"Be diligent in what you do. Have strong work ethics and all will be well in the end," said McAdoo.
