Olympic Mixed also book slot in last eight at Airtel Rising Stars event.

Upper Hill and Olympic Mixed sailed into today’ boys’ and girls’ quarter-finals in the ongoing Airtel Rising Stars Nairobi Region Secondary Schools Term Two B Games.

The two, who are tipped to win the regional football titles, oozed class as they won the preliminary matches yesterday at Lenana School.

Upper Hill thrashed Moi Forces Academy (MFA) 4-0 in the second boys Group A match to secure a place in the last eight.

Goals from John Odira, Finly Osoro, Washington Odoyo and Kelvin Oduor gave the 2013 national champions the convincing win.

Upper Hill coach Joseph Makokha was full of praise for his charges saying they had achieved their first goal adding that work had just began.

“Our first target was to qualify for the quarters and we did that convincingly.

“However, the fight is still on and the work has just began because the knockout stage will be tougher, but I believe my players are ready for the challenge,” Makokha said.

Upper Hill who are seeking a return to the nationals after a three-year absence launched their campaign on a high trouncing Baba Dogo Mixed School 3-0 in the opening match.

In girls’ matches, last year’s Metropolitan Region winners Olympic eased to the quarters.

They beat Mount Laverna and Baba Dogo.
