Antonio Conte wants legend Andrea Pirlo to be his assistant

Since Chelsea assistant to Antonio Conte, Steve Holland, will be joining England full-time in the summer, Conte’s number two should be found quick.

The Italian wants to replace him with fellow countryman-legendary Andrea Pirlo.

Chelsea legend Ray Wilkins and former blues assistant and captain believes Conte wants t reunite with Pirlo.

Pirlo, 37, has been seen often at Stamford Bridge pretty much last season according to The Sun. this in return has led to this speculation.

The Italy’s favorite midfielder has previously played for Ac Milan before moving to Juventus in 2011. He late joined MLS side-New York City Fc for a short stint before hanging the boots.

The pair won three titles in a row in Serie A.

Pirlo who hailed Conte for his genius theatrics in his first season in England in an interview last month…

He said: "Conte, for me, is the best coach because he’s a genius.

"He works every day, every single moment for soccer, for the team, every small detail and on the field, the players play very good.

"With Juventus, I was with this coach for three years. We won the league, but every day was stronger in training.

"Maybe now it's the same at Chelsea."

But Conte will have to lobby hard to get his man.

Since Roman Abramovich took over in 2003, six British coaches have acted as assistants to 11 different foreign bosses.
