Alba has been a long term target for the Blues and his appearance in the changing room - albeit on screen - will only enhance the rumours.

Alba added to the flames last month saying: "It’s clear that the more I play, the better I play.

"We haven’t spoken about it [leaving Barcelona] but a footballer always wants to play and I have not played as much as I’ve wanted to."

Antonio Conte's side wrapped up the title at West Brom's Hawthorns on Friday night thanks to Michy Batshuayi's late strike.

Thibaut Courtois has revealed that feeling the humiliation of being written off as a joke was the big -inspiration behind Chelsea’s title triumph.

“This is amazing, especially after last year,” said the Belgian goalkeeper. “We had a lot of critics. There was a lot of laughter ¬towards us. So to come back in this way, to be champions, is a good -answer.

“Obviously after last year, when we had a moment when we were 16th in the league, people laughed.

“When you get criticised, ¬obviously it’s not nice just after a season when you had won the league. Some of the criticism was deserved and some was not. But we have bounced back, winning the title again, and that’s amazing.”
