Kevin De Bruyne's injury improving ahead of City’s Premier League trip to Arsenal

Kevin De Bruyne should be fit for Manchester City 's Premier League trip to Arsenal - despite pulling out of the Belgium squad through injury.

City face Arsenal next Sunday in a game crucial to both clubs' hopes of securing a top-four finish and Champions League football next season.

De Bruyne was forced to pull out of the Belgium squad for the games against Greece and Russia after suffering a groin injury on international duty this week.

But sources close to De Bruyne suggested the injury is a minor one and the midfielder withdrew as a precaution, to ensure he does not do further damage.

De Bruyne, who is understood to have returned to Manchester for treatment, is therefore likely to be fit for the trip to Arsenal and Chelsea three days later.

City are seven points clear of the seventh-place Gunners, who have played a game less.
