Homeboyz RFC head coach Paul Murunga is ready for a tough match against unbeaten Kenya Cup League leaders Kenya Commercial Bank when the two sides clash at the Lions Den in Ruaraka, today (4pm).

Even though KCB is sitting comfortably at the top of the table with 51 points after an unbelievable 12-game unbeaten run, Murunga is optimistic of getting good results at Ruaraka today.

“Just like KCB, we have had a good run this year and we have beat the ‘big’ teams. It will not be an easy game, but with the motivation and psyche in the team, we can end their unbeaten record,” said Murunga, whose side is fourth on the log, 13 points adrift of bankers.

“We have worked on all areas and I believe the boys are ready for the game. It will be a very tactical match, but it is my hope that the boys will remain focused and avoid making silly mistakes.

“For sure, it will be a tough match for both teams, but whoever plays smart and reduce mistakes will definitely carry the day. I have enough depth and an injury free squad, so expect fireworks tomorrow (today),” warned the former Kenya Sevens deputy coach.

Second-placed Kenya Harlequin (44) will be hoping to bounce back from their shocking 15-7 defeat to Mwamba RFC when they host sixth placed Nakuru RFC (34) in a potentially exciting encounter at RFUEA grounds. Impala will play seventh placed Kulabu.

Champions Kabras Sugar (39) will be aiming to narrow the gap on Quins when they take on struggling Strathmore Leos in Kakamega.

University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine will be battling with Kenyatta University’s BlakBlad in a relegation zone encounter and Nondescripts will be entertaining Western Bulls at Jamhuri Park.
