Ballack has so often been unlucky at international level he has at least played in two Champions League finals.

Unfortunately he finished on the losing side each time -- with Bayer Leverkusen in 2002 and with Chelsea when Manchester United won the Champions League following 6-5 on penalties after a dramatic 1-1 draw.

Jonathan Richter (born 16 January 1985) is a Danish disabled professional football midfielder, who played for the Danish Superliga side FC Nordsjælland.

On 20 July 2009 while playing at Hvidovre Stadion, Richter was struck by lightning which resulted in cardiac arrest. He had his leg amputated six weeks after being struck by lightning.

Since than beneficial has lost 7 European cup finals and they have reached most recently in 1990 against Milan, Eusebio, who Guttman brought to the club, even prayed at his grave to try and lift the curse, but to no avail. It has been 100 years and the curse is still going on him.
