Nairobi, Kenya: The fourth edition of the Kenya Universities Sports Association(KUSA) national women championship will take place from 7-8 March.
The all women exclusive championship that will be held at the Africa Nazarene University Ongata Rongai Campus as part of the KUSA’s preparations for the world University Games (Universiade) in Gwangju, South Korea later in July.
Kenya will be sending a team of 50 athletes in track and field,table tennis,swimming,tae Kwondo and badminton..
A participation fee for the two-day event is sh. 5000 per team and sh.500 for individual athletes.
The competition will involve different disciplines including; athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, handball, hockey, karate, netball, scrabble, soccer, swimming, table tennis, tae kwondo, tennis, volleyball and soft ball.
The second edition of the championship was held at Egerton University where 20 institutions took part with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) being another institution to host the event.
At the same time, the KUSA Nairobi conference league is on this weekend with several matches on the cards.
Basketball action will be at Strathmore University while the men’s fixtures set for University of Nairobi main campus.
Handball and volleyball action heads to Africa Nazarene grounds with hockey set to Strathmore grounds.
Football will be staged at United States International University-Africa grounds.
