Ruto in Namibia to pay tribute to President Geingob (Photos)

President William Ruto pays his respects to the late Namibia President Hage Geingob. [PCS]

President William Ruto arrived in Namibia on Saturday, February 24, for the memorial service of the late President Hage Geingob.

Ruto will be joining other leaders, Ambassadors, and High commissioners from different parts of the world, at Independence Stadium in Windhoek where Geingob’s memorial service is set to take place.

Already, hundreds of Namibians have arrived at the stadium to pay their final respects.

Hage Geingob died aged 82 at Lady Pohamba Hospital in Windhoek, weeks after he was diagnosed with cancer.

He served as Namibia’s first Prime minister, Trade and Industry Minister, and the chair of the body that drafted Namibia's constitution before assuming the Presidency.

He will be laid to rest at Namibia’s Heroes Acre on Sunday, February 25.
