Phone maker sued for unpaid dues to supplier

Qualcomm Inc (QCOM.O) mobile phone chip supplier, said in a court hearing on Friday that Apple Inc (AAPL.O) is USD7 billion behind in patent royalty payments to the mobile chip firm, which for years supplied parts for the iPhone.

Apple and Qualcomm are involved in a series legal actions. Apple has accused Qualcomm of unfair patent licensing practices. Qualcomm, the world’s largest mobile phone chip supplier, has in turn accused Apple of patent infringement.
