Second suspect linked to murder of Nakuru trader arrested in Nairobi

Police have arrested a second suspect linked to killing of Nakuru businessman in his Nairobi hideout.

According to Nakuru Town West police boss Patrick Olonyi, the suspect had travelled to Nairobi after allegedly committing attacking and killing David Wachira alias Kamlesh.

"Investigations led us to the arrest of a middle-aged man linked to the murder of the businessman," said Olonyi.

The arrest comes after another suspect was charged in connection with the killing.

Elvis Musonya appeared before Principal Magistrate Elizabeth Usui on Tuesday amd was charged with murder.

A police report indicates that the suspect committed the offence jointly with others on the night of August 16 and 17, 2019.

But Mr Musonya did not take plea after the police successfully applied to detain him for 14 more days to conclude investigations.

The second suspect will also be taken to Nakuru to take plea.

Wachira, 45, owner of Biscept Limited that deals with energy drinks, wines and spirits was returning from Kisumu when a gang of six attacked and killed him.

Mr Olonyi has said investigations to apprehend more suspects.
