Four more players from Nairobi Football Academy have landed lucrative contracts with Dubai’s Al Shabab Al Arabi Football Club.
Nairobi Football Academy director, Hussein Terry, is set to leave the country this morning to finalise the players’ move to the Abu Dhabi club which has won the United Arab Emirates (UAE) league three times.
The four include Ismal Omar, Fahd Salim, Jamal Omar and Jamil Mohammed and they are set to join their new club in a week’s time after Terry finalises their move.
Four other players from the Academy, Sudi Suleiman, Athman Mzee, Benjamin Karanja and Alwi Mohammed recently landed a contract with Italian Serie B team Torino after the Academy’s successful tour of Italy last month.
Outstanding Performance
"Our outstanding performance during out tour to Italy last month, has seen many clubs chase our players and I think it is a good opening for the academy and the country in general.
Four under-17 players and two senior players from the academy have caught the eyes of Al Shabab scouts and they would join the team in a weeks time," said Terry who is also a former Harambee Stars team manager.
The semi-finalists of the Asian Cup Winners Cup in 1991 have signed a number of foreigners including Brazilian players and the Kenyans will have a run for their money when they join the club.
