Ranting over state appointments waste of time, says DP William Ruto

Uasin Gishu, Kenya: The government has told off leaders ranting over recent state appointments, that all regions will be considered irrespective of their political loyalty.

Deputy President William Ruto emphasised that positions in government will be distributed to regions in the country irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity or community.

“Those saying they want the available slots to go to specific people and communities are wasting their time,” said the DP.

Without mentioning names, the tough talking Ruto sought to remind the disgruntled leaders that Kenya belongs to all.

“This is the government of Kenya and every part, every citizen, every community, religion or political persuasion will work in this government,” he affirmed.

He stressed, “This is the government of Kenya, it is not the government of a few people.”

Ruto maintained that ‘Kenya is one and the government is one’ and therefore they are going to serve the people without discrimination.

He lashed at the leaders for faulting the government on the state appointments and instead asked them to stop engaging in petty politics of ‘this community, political parties or individuals’.

“They should stop engaging in divisive politics and instead join hands and unite Kenyans to be one for the sake of development,” he said.

He continued, “Kenya is not for a few but for all.”

He argued that leaders who believe in sectarian, parochial and ethnic persuasions do not belong to this century, as Jubilee government believes and is going to work with all Kenyans, religions, race and communities.

“This is everyone’s country and all deserve every bit of resources and leadership in their country,” he added.

Ruto spoke during a church service ‘Service of thanks giving for unity in diversity’ in Turbo, Uasin Gishu County Sunday, where he announced that the jubilee government has put in place elaborate plans to deliver on its pledges and improve the economy.

The Jubilee government has been on the spot over public appointments with leaders accusing the President and DP of sidelining some areas that overwhelming supported them.
