Kenya National Congress presidential aspirant Peter Kenneth has told investors not to be discouraged by political campaigns ahead of the General Election.

Addressing the seventh annual National Seminar of Association of Insurance Brokers of Kenya (AIBK) at Indian Ocean Beach Resort in Kwale yesterday, Kenneth assured entrepreneurs of peaceful polls.

The new Constitution, he added, has adequate mechanisms to address all electoral disputes peacefully.

Tomorrow the Planning Assistant minister will lead final campaigns for the KNC candidate in Kajiado North.

Kenneth will hold meetings at Magadi Soda, Oldonyo and Kiserian ahead of the repeat poll scheduled for Monday. He challenged the delegates to take advantage of the peaceful elections in a war torn Somalia and establish brokerage firms there.

The seminar brought together industry players from the entire East African region with the aim of sensitising members and partners on various challenges within the region.

According to the industry statistics, insurance coverage in Kenya is currently at three per cent compared to South Africa at 12 per cent, but regionally Kenya is the biggest in terms of volume business, number of insurance companies, Brokers and practicing professionals.

The regulatory authority is well advanced and the rest of the countries within the region borrow from its operating model.
