Clerics urge politicians to go slow on Mau debate

By Titus Too

ACK clerics from the North Rift have asked leaders to tone down their differences arising from the ongoing Mau eviction and instead concentrate on constitution making.

The clerics said Mau debate has preoccupied and overshadowed the ongoing constitution making process.

Rirei and Rev Elijah Yego said the 30 days given by Committee of Experts for public scrutiny on the Harmonised Draft Constitution is elapsing without leaders sensitising their electorate on the proposed laws.

Speaking in Kapsabet on Tuesday, the clerics asked the government to address the plight of the Mau evictees camping in the open areas.
