Man arrested for allegedly raping 11-year-old girl

Police in Homa Bay have arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly defiling a minor.

The man is said to have sexually abused an 11-year-old girl at their rental house at Ogango village, North East Karachuonyo location in Rachuonyo North Sub County on Christmas day.

According to the area Chief Tobias Aduda, the man is said to have sneaked into the house where the minor stays with her sister at the time she was left alone and allegedly did the heinous act.

"We were notified about the heinous act by villagers who spotted the man just getting out of the house where the minor stays. The girl was immediately subjected to a medical examination that showed she was raped by the man," Aduda said.

Aduda said a medical examination revealed that the man unlawfully committed the offence that prompted the search and his arrest.

He warned locals against engaging in unwarranted acts that could land them on the wrong side of the law.

Rachuonyo North OCPD Joseph Kisombe said the man was taken to Kendu Bay Police Station and would be arraigned in court soon.

"The suspect is in our custody pending his appearance in court to face defilement charges. We've collected reports of the medical tests that will enable provision of justice when the case commences," said Kisombe.
