Siaya, Kenya: A section of Jubilee Members of Parliament has called on the Government to double former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s security detail.

This comes barely a week after ODM nominated MP Oburu Oginga claimed there were plans to assassinate the former PM.

Speaking at a fundraising in Sega Girls High School, Siaya County, Kieni MP Kanini Kenga said the allegations were saddening and urged Dr Oburu to report the matter to the police.

 SECURITY DETAIL

“If there is anything like that, then the former PM’s security agents should be doubled because we do not want anything to happen to him,” said Kenga.

The Thika MP also called on Oburu to report the matter to the police since the allegations touching on Raila’s life were serious.

“Who would want to kill Raila? Without Raila the competition will not be sweet. Nobody wants to kill him. Raila makes politics very interesting,” she said.

Other MPs at the function hosted by Ugenya MP Dave Ochieng were Alice Ng’ang’a (Thika) and Kimani Ichung’wah (Kikuyu), Cornel Serem (Aldai). The MPs promised to be at the airport to welcome Raila when he returns from the US.
