PDP ward reps threaten to replace minority leader

By DENNIS ONYANGO

Kisumu,Kenya: Members of Kisumu County Assembly from the People’s Democratic Party are set to replace the Leader of Minority in the House for allegedly attacking Governor Jacktone Ranguma’s budget.

Market/Milimani ward representative Edwin Anayo was disowned by his colleagues over his remarks on the plan to purchase a fleet of Sh72 million Prado cars for the members of the county Executive.

Addressing a press conference yesterday, the ward representatives who included Willis Ogonyo (Muhoroni/Koru), Joshua Auko (Ombei) and Maurice Ondiek (Miwani) threatened to replace Anayo for showing disrespect to Ranguma. “He is a member of this committee and consented to the vehicle purchase,” Ogonyo said.

Anayo had proposed Sh72 million allocated for vehicles be diverted to the construction of markets.
