Raila: No direct nomination for ODM aspirants

By County Weekly reporter

There will be no direct nominations for any ODM aspirant.

This was the message from Prime Minister and Party leader Raila Odinga as concern grew over the party’s preparedness to conduct fair nominations.

Mr Odinga  said   the party had already established mechanisms aimed at giving each candidate an equal opportunity, to be nominated as party flag-bearer for all the six elective seats.

Speaking in Nyamira County, Mr Odinga urged those who would lose in the nominations to stick with the party, because they would be given other roles to play within the party.

“There will be no favours and nominations are not war. It would be a friendly match as we prepare to reclaim our victory that was stolen from us in 2007,” said Mr Odinga.

The party’s new-look National Elections Board headed by Col (rtd) Henry Muthee Kathurima has also assured party members that it will conduct fear and credible nominations.
