Tarbaj MP Bashane lauded for supporting education

Tarbaj MP Ahmed Bashane has been lauded by his constituents over his commitment to improve the education standards in the region.

On Monday, he flagged off a lorry full of learning materials to 37 schools in his constituency.

The assorted learning materials and furniture were delivered to five schools secondary and 32 primary schools in Tarbaj sub-county, Garissa County.

Several teachers whose schools benefitted said this will go a long way in improving the living conditions in the region as well as motivating them.

 “The donation was from my initiative and friends from the diaspora,” said the lawmaker.

He also opened a new dormitory for Mansa Boys Secondary School.

The event attended by officials from the Ministry of Education, Teachers Service Commission (TSC), teachers and other stakeholders who commended and termed it a good gesture in improving the conditions of learner.

 “Let me take this opportunity to appreciate the MP for providing us with desks, chairs, office tables and executive chairs for teachers. We are getting bursaries on time and the infrastructure development has improved,” said Mr Ismail Kunow, the Principal Mansa Secondary School.

Sarman Secondary School Principal Mr Mohamud also lauded the MP’s initiative, saying it has helped in improving the education sector in the region.

“We have received over 100 chairs and chambers, executive seats and desk. We have received office chairs tables. This will go a long way in achieving our objective as a school,” said the principal.

He went on, “The schools that benefitted alongside mine are now well furnished and students will be very much comfortable.”

He said they appreciate the MP’s gesture.

“Infact, the he paid for the transportation the goods and we have just flagged off the learning materials,” he confirmed.

He continued, “They are now headed to the beneficiary.  On our part, we promise to reciprocate the same nice gesture by ensuring we deliver.”

Mr Abdinasar Bashir Deputy Principal Tarbja Primary School also echoed his colleagues’ sentiments.

“I am very happy. We thank the area MP for his continued support through his finances and those and the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF),” he stated.

Mr Bashir said the furniture for primary and secondary schools will improve the learning environment.

“We were able to receiver chambers, tables and also executive chairs. We are very grateful and this will have a positive impact on our institutions,” he said.
