Mugure Thande among judges transferred in latest Judiciary reshuffle

High Court Judge Mugure Thande who froze the implementation of the Finance Act, of 2023 has been transferred to Malindi.

 The judge is in a list of 13 who have been reshuffled to head different courts by the Judiciary.

  The transfer letter is signed by High Court Principal Judge Eric Ogola.

  In the list, Justice Chacha Mwita makes a comeback in the Constitutional Court from the Commercial one.

  He was intially transferred to Kajiado Law Court before being brought back to Milimani’s  then Commercial and Tax Division.

  In the meantime, Justice Hedwig Ong’udi has been moved to Nakuru where she will be the Principal Judge.

 Also on the list is Justice David Majanja who will not sit in Milimani Court’s Civil Division from the Commercial Court.

 Majanja and Mwita will be replaced by Justices Peter Mulwa from Kiambu High Court and Aleem Visram from the Milimani’s Civil Division.

  Justice Hillary Chemitei, from Nakuru, will not head Milimani Court Family Division while Justice Maureen Odero will move to Nyeri from the Family Court in Nairobi.

  At the same time, Justice Florence Muchemi has been placed in Thika from Nyeri and Justice Patricia Gichohi will be Nakuru from Kisii High Court.

  Further, Justice Teresa Odera will switch with Justice Gichohi from Nakuru to Kisii.

  Meanwhile, Justice Diana Kavedza will head two newly created High Courts in Kibra and Kahawa. The Kahawa High Court will be a specialized court trying appeals on persons convicted for engaging in terrorism.

  The Judge was in the Milimani Criminal High Court. Before that, she was a Chief Magistrate heading the Kahawa Law Court.
