Transport Cabinet Secretary (CS) nominee Kipchumba Murkomen says his net worth is Sh550 million.

Murkomen attributes his net worth to his legal practice and investment property in Nairobi, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu and Kajiado counties.

The CS nominee made the revelation during his vetting by MPs on Wednesday, October 19.

"My income comes from legal practice and salary as the Senator of Elgeyo Marakwet County. My homes in Nairobi and Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, and parcels of land in Trans Nzoia, Narok, Kajiado counties have also contributed to my net worth. I also have vehicles and a wheelbarrow," said Murkomen.

"I also earn from farming. Cumulatively, my net worth is about Sh550 million," added Murkomen.

If approved by the National Assembly, Murkomen said he'll ensure that the construction of roads will be equitably distributed across the country.

Should Murkomen assume office as the Cabinet Secretary for Roads, Transport and Public Works, Elgeyo Marakwet constituents will have to go the ballot to elect their new Senator.
