Man shoots dog at a supermarket parking lot in Embakasi

A man shot a dog while in a Quickmart supermarket parking lot in Embakasi, Nairobi. 

This is according to a police report, OB number 37/09/10/2022, recorded at 15:40pm on Sunday, October 9 at Embakasi Police Station. 

Hussein Aden Somo, 55, claimed that a dog that was inside a car bit him while he was passing by after shopping in the said supermarket. 

The police said the man who claims to be a licensed firearm holder, shot a dog using his Glock Pistol S/No. BVKK687.

"Mr Aden had parked his Mercedes Benz next to another vehicle when he was about to enter his car after shopping, a dog bit him through the window, and as a reaction, he aimed at the dog and fired one round of 9mm through the same window," the police said.

They added that he later drove himself to the hospital at AAR Medical Centre Embakasi. 

They said that the officers visited the hospital and found him with a bandaged shoulder. 

"He was later discharged in stable condition. He was disarmed and the firearm, loaded with eleven (11) rounds of 9mm, Firearm Certificate S/No 000179, was taken for further investigation," the police said.

One spent cartridge was also recovered at the scene. A progress report will follow as the white man [car/dog owner] has not been traced to provide more details."
