Mudavadi wants plight of doctors addressed

ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi (pictured) has slammed the government for ignoring the plight of health workers even as Covid-19 pandemic spreads.

He accused the Ministry of Health of turning a deaf ear to the pleas from doctors, nurses and other health practitioners at a time coronavirus cases are surging.

“We cannot have a government where leaders are just giving empty promises to the front line workers in the health sector, especially during this trying moment where as a country we are facing a health crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Mudavadi.

He called for quick remedies to reduce the risk of plunging the country’s health sector into an uncertain crisis.

He was speaking yesterday in Wundanyi/Mbale Ward where he was drumming up support for Julius Mwachila Julia, the ANC candidate for the forthcoming by-election slated for December 15.

“The choice that you will make on Tuesday will dictate how your lives will move on especially in matters development and betterment of their lives,” he appealed.

Mudavadi, who has declared his candidature in the 2022 elections, was accompanied by Matuga MP Kassim Tandaza and the ANC national chairman Kelvin Lunani. Health workers went on strike on Monday to push for better work conditions.
