Detectives on May 24 arrested two suspects after they allegedly conned an individual Sh72,000 while posing as genuine container sellers.

Ethan Mwangi and Isaiah Otieno were arrested within Nairobi’s Huruma Estate by DCI detectives based at Githurai Kimbo.

“Two suspects who had represented themselves as genuine 20 Feet container sellers and hence defrauded an individual Sh72,000 have been arrested by DCI officers based at Githurai Kimbo,” DCI tweeted.

During the arrest, detectives managed to recover ID cards belonging to other people, forged documents including bill of landing and delivery documents in the name of Hakika Transporters during the arrest.

Also recovered by the sleuths are assorted SIM cards and various mobile phones used by the suspects to steal from unsuspecting members of the public.

“We also recovered assorted SIM cards and mobile phones used by the suspects in their ill missions,” said DCI.

The two are in police custody and will be charged accordingly.
