Flashy Nairobi businessman charged with threatening to kill a guard

Flashy Nairobi businessman, Kevin Obia who was caught on camera threatening to shoot a guard in Kileleshwa has been charged at Milimani Law Courts.

Obia, who appeared before Principle Magistrate Peter Okoo, denied two counts of threatening to kill and behaving disorderly while carrying a firearm.

The court was informed that on March 16, 2019, at Vue Claire Place along Siaya road in Kileleshwa road, without lawful excuse and while armed with a pistol, Obia had threatened to kill Yohana Imbwaka, a security guard at the said place

The defense requested for a favorable bond terms on grounds that he has cooperated with investigators.

His gun has since been confiscated. Police are also seeking to establish whether the gun license he presented is genuine.

It is alleged that Obia lives a flashy lifestyle and he is a familiar face in the entertainment circuit as well as the corridors of justice.

He was released on Sh 1 million bond terms or a cash bail of Sh 500,000.

The matter will be mentioned on Heard on April 20, 2019.
