Doha: Nairobi City County governor, Dr Evans Kidero and Garissa MP Aden Duale are in Doha, Qatar for a three day Doha forum which began on Monday 11th.

The Doha Forum will offer a sweeping overview of issues regarding Democracy, Development and Free Trade in the Middle - East, the Arab countries and the world. More broadly, this international meeting will discuss critical political, economic, social, financial, strategic and human matters of pressing concern for a region witnessing some of the most substantial changes in its very long History.

Said Dr Kidero “I am eager to work with the international community to drive progress toward a comprehensive and operational Nairobi City and this forum will provide the perfect platform for these engagements.  I have planned bilateral discussions and multilateral consultations meetings with key leaderships focusing around the following issues; Urban Regeneration, construction of an ultra-modern Hospital  in Nairobi County, repair of Nairobi drainage system through funding from Qatar, construction of an ultra-modern School in Nairobi County, rehabilitation of street children in Nairobi County, possible funding/twinning for Nairobi County Government

Some of the international guests to the Doha Forum this year will include some current Heads of State and Government. The Forum will also feature other distinguished opinion leaders, eminent political thinkers, decision – makers and members of parliament, renowned businessmen, academics, media figures and international organizations. These participants will contribute to a free, learned and stimulating debate on each of the many topics on the Forum’s agenda, with a focus on the post – Arab Spring prospects and Democratic transformation, Communal Security Issues, Human Development and Human Security; Global Economy and Energy, International Cooperation, Digital and Social Media, and Human Rights issues.
