Nairobi, Kenya: Two women are in police custody after they were reportedly caught trafficking psychotropic drugs valued at Sh15.3 million in Nairobi’s Umoja estate.

One of the women had arrived in Nairobi from Mombasa to pick the package while the second had brought it from Kampala, Uganda aboard a bus.

Police from Special Crimes Prevention Unit identified the woman who had arrived from Uganda as Terry Jackline Wairimu.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday ordered police to give special focus on remaining drug lords, poachers, illicit brewers and agents of terror.

CID director Ndegwa Muhoro said they sent samples of the powder to the Government Chemist and it was established the powder was a psychotropic one packaged in a maize bag.

The suspects are expected in court today to face charges of drug trafficking.
