Platforms like X and Instagram have become hotbeds for unverified rumours about the Obamas. The hashtag #ObamaDivorce began trending shortly after her absence from Carter's funeral. Some users even claimed to have inside knowledge of a rift, while others pointed to Michelle's independent projects and extended time away from Barack as signs of trouble. Both Barack and Michelle Obama have remained active in their respective careers and philanthropy since leaving the White House. Barack continues to focus on initiatives through the Obama Foundation, while Michelle has embarked on numerous projects, including her Netflix series and speaking tours. Their busy schedules have often seen them travelling separately, a fact that has been interpreted by some as evidence of a growing distance between the two.
