Florida, USA:  A hoard of 3,500 weapons, fake body parts and skulls in a Satanic shrine have been discovered at the home of a "dangerous" woman.

Officers came across the shocking stash when they went to carry out an arrest warrant for Nickole Dykema.

But when they arrived at her mobile home in Brooksville, Florida, police say the 47-year-old stared at them through a broken window, cursed and refused to come out.

She is the alleged to have attacked a cop with a machete when he tried to take her into custody, before trying to hide under her bed covers and waving around a silver sword.

It is alleged she next grabbed several knives and refused to put them down.

After five hours of negotiating police tasered the woman.

Sheriff Al Nienhuis told ABC 2 : "This person was obviously dangerous to the community.

"It amazes me that these deputies were able to take her into custody without anyone being injured.

"It shows the level of their restraint and professionalism under very difficult and dangerous conditions.

"Had something gone wrong, it would be easy for critics to accuse them of moving too quickly or too slowly.

Dykema had previously been arrested for resisting an officer without violence, carrying a concealed weapon and and providing a false name to law enforcement.

She was was charged with several counts of probation violation, property damage, resisting an officer without violence and assault on an officer.

The disturbing items in the house included fake skeletons and severed limbs along with skulls that had knives embedded in them.

Neighbours claim they have heard yelling and screaming in the past and one claims she caught her slashing the screens in front of her windows.
