When I was in Standard Eight, hop, step and jump popularly called 'three-sticks' was the game of the season. It got more competitive when we placed bets on the winner. One day, I was a finalist, with only one opponent to beat and I'd get all the cash.
My opponent jumped first and failed. I was elated because at that point I was sure I’d win. I was on my last step, ready to clear the last obstacle when some little lower primary girls crossed my path. We collided and consequently, I failed in my bid.
