Governor nominates members of public service board

Marsabit governor appoints new members of Public Service Board

Governor Mohamud Ali has nominated new members to sit on the County Public Service Board (CPSB).

The nominees will replace members of the CPSB appointed by Mr Ali's predecessor Ukur Yatani, whose term has expired.

Ali has already submitted names of the nominees to the county assembly for vetting before formal appointment.

Ambrose Lochokwe has been nominated as chairperson while Abdi Adan Suleiman, Halima Urgo Omar, Rufo Roba Wario, Dansoye Dula Chudo and Adan Mohamed Ibrahim have been named as board members.

If their nominations are approved, the CPSB members will be expected to serve Marsabit residents for six years.

According to a notice by the county clerk, the six nominees will be vetted on July 8 and 9 at the Marsabit County Assembly Chambers starting from 9.30am.

“The nominees are expected to collect vetting forms from the office of the clerk during official working hours from July 3 and submit the forms together with copies of required documents on or before July 8 before 9.30 am,” said county assembly clerk Mahmoud Kamaya.

Anyone who intends to contest the suitability of any of the six candidates to hold the office has been asked by Mr Kamaya to provide evidence in a written statement under oath before the approval hearing date.
