Kenyan international Rhoda Kuria scored a last-gasp-minute leveler to salvage a crucial point for United States International University Africa (USIU-A) Spartans who rallied from behind to hold DFG Wolverines 2-2 in a KHU Premier League match at City Park Stadium on Sunday.

Perez Akinyi who saved a point for the Spartans on Saturday when USIU drew 1-1 with bottom-placed Amira Sailors gave the hosts the lead in the 13th minute before Elphine Munchi restored parity in the 39th minute.

Jane Njeri would score in the 46th minute to give Wolverines a 2-1 lead heading into the final quarter.

However, as the newbies thought they were on course for their second win of the season, Kuira popped up at the last minute to salvage a point for the university students.
The draw would come in handy for the Spartans who in the process moved third on the log with nine points.

They leapfrogged Lakers Hockey Club from Kisumu who sit fourth on eight points.
Strathmore University Scorpions top the standings with 18 points as defending champions Blazers sit in second-placed with 14 points. The teams have played six and seven matches, respectively.

On Saturday, Kenyan international Leah Omwandho gave Amira the lead in the 24th minute before Perez Akinyi salvaged a point for USIU after leveling the scores in the 52nd minute as USIU drew 1-1 with Sailors.
