Kikuyu musician John Dematthew's daughter Jane Dematthew is appealing for financial support in order to cover her son's burial costs which amount to 450K.
Jane, a budding musician, lost her 13-year-old son Victor to a rare blood condition called polycythemia. The blood disorder causes the body to produce excess red blood cells, resulting in the overproduction of blood in the body.
Speaking to Karangu wa Muraya during an interview on Youtube, Jane revealed that she has been in and out of various hospitals trying to find a cure for her son's disease. She also revealed that her son was diagnosed with a heart condition early this year in India.
Jane recalled how her father supported her when he was alive and further thanked her fans for all the support. She said,
"My child fell sick when he was five years old, he was suffering from polycythemia. He had been receiving treatment in Mombasa. I thank my late father who always cleared the medical bills..."
Her appeal came a few days after the artiste broke the sad news about her son's death. Through her Facebook page, Jane revealed to her fans that she lost her son at the time when she was commemorating her late father's demise. She wrote:
"If only I could bring you back to life, son, together we have climbed thousands of mountains, even during difficult times you always tell me that everything will be okay. Now here is the reality. You are no more. I hate typing R.I.P."
