Police in Kilimani have opened investigations into a burglary incident at the city home of DPP Noordin Haji.
On Thursday night, police were called to the Nairobi Riverside estate home following reports that criminals had broken into the house and stolen electronics.
The criminal are said to have stolen a television set and some shoes.
It remains a mystery how the criminals managed to beat the hawk-eyed AP officers who provide 24 hours security to the home.
The DPP was not in this residence at the time of the incident.
Police said at around 11pm on Thursday, two men who are Haji's relatives returned home only to discover that there were some missing items from the house.
The two are said to have informed security guards who manning the residence, but the officers said they had not seen any intruder into the compound.
Yesterday, Haji, in a statement on the DPP Twitter handle, said there was a burglary incident at his house and not office as reported on some social media platforms.
Haji said he does not keep any work-related material including evidence in his house.
"Members of the public and media are urged not to politicise this incident," the statement read.
Interior CS Fred Matiangi who spoke to journalists in Nairobi said a team of officers from the police had been assigned to find out to investigate the incident.
"I don't want to make sideline comments on a matter as sensitive as that but investigations are ongoing," he said.
