Masshouse, a well-known entertainment joint located within Ngong Racecourse along Ngong Road in Nairobi found themselves at crossroads explaining a situation where one of the patrons was found unresponsive.
The patron, who is believed to be a Strathmore University student allegedly lost their life after a severe beating during an altercation at night spot. There was a massive online uproar and the joint was forced to issue a statement where they said they wouldn’t share any detailed information but they were cooperating with the authorities.
The tragic incident, which occurred over the weekend, has sparked widespread concern and speculation, prompting calls for a thorough investigation. Authorities have since launched an investigation to determine the cause of death.
In the statement issued, Masshouse management expressed deep condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
“Between the late hours of Friday the 14th and the early hours of Saturday the 15th of February 2025, an incident occurs within the Masshouse premise and as such we extend our sympathies to the victims loved ones,” read the statement in part.
They further reiterated that they were not in a position to disclose much about the ongoing investigation but assured full support to the investigating agencies.
While the exact circumstances remain unclear, people privy to the premises have given different accounts suggesting that there may have been an altercation or security lapse involved, with some alleging this is not a lone incident at the same location.
Masshouse’s statement also addressed safety concerns, emphasizing that the venue operates with strict security protocols and crowd management measures. "Masshouse is firmly dedicated to ensuring the safety and the well-being of all our clients remains a top priority," the statement continued.
