Shazzy B is a feisty femcee in the hip-hop world with major accomplishments to her name. Known for her unique sound and bold presence, she has been carving out her niche in the industry.

“As a female rapper, one ought to have courage since most people try to take advantage of you, or just being underrated,” she says.

One Shazzy B’s standout accomplishments is the release of The Boss Lady Series, which includes two well-received EPs: The Boss Lady Part 1 and Part 2.

“I have a whole body of work dubbed Bosslady part 3 which is in completion,” she says.

Her talents extend beyond music creation. Shazzy B has made her mark in corporate work, composing catchy adverts for clients.

In 2024, she was the second runner-up in the Yamaha Road Music Challenge, a talent search hosted by CFAO Mobility Kenya.

She has also made waves in Kiswahealing II album, where she featured on two tracks alongside Maovete and Kenyan poet Kitu Sewer, adding her distinct touch to the project.

Her journey wouldn’t be complete without mentioning her participation in several cyphers.

Although now a star in her own right, Shazzy B says her first-time experience in Nairobi was heartwarming. “I had heard stories of how people made lots of money in Nairobi and I couldn’t wait for my turn Kukafunga,” she says.

But this came with twists and turns when she got her first job and was looking for a house with a budget of 6k which ended up in the hands of conmen.

“I met some ‘agents’ who purported they would help me. Once I gave them the cash, they disappeared with my money. I would later realise that I had been conned.”
