Ken Amalemba triumphs at Pan Africa Life tournament

Handicap 11 and Kisumu golfer Ken Amalemba posted a total of 36 Stableford points to emerge the overall winner of the Pan Africa Life tournament at the par 70 Nyanza Golf Club.

Amalemba scored 18 stableford points in the opening nine and added another 18 in the closing nine to sum up his tally at 36 points.

“Am happy that Pan Africa sponsored this tournament. I’m humbled to receive a gift from the General Manager Individual Life Ezekiel Owuor,” said Amalemba.

Playing off handicap eight, Noah Winja also from Nyanza, paired 15 points that he sunk in the starting nine with another 20  in the following nine for a total of 35 stableford points for the second position.

Third overall player was handicap 11, John Orioro also from Nyanza who also scoped a total of 35 stableford points. However, he lost on count back against Winja after amassing 17 and 18 stableford points in the initial and succeeding nine respectively.

Ladies champion

Nyanza Golf Club Ladies’ Captain Ruth Kwasu, who was playing off handicap 27, managed a total of 32 stableford points to win the ladies category after posting 17 points in the outward nine and another 15 points in the inward nine.

Handicap eight Patricia Ondima was the ladies runner up after collecting 31 stableford points from 17 and 14 points that she scored in the preliminary and subsequent nine.

Pan Africa Life General Manager Individual Life Ezekiel Owuor won the first nine after posting 20 stableford points, while the second nine title was clinched by Lutha Owuor, who posted 21 Stabelford points. The longest drive men category was won by handicap zero Peter Owino while the ladies title went to R Kurgat.

Noah Winja won the nearest to the pin category while the guest winner was James Ondigo, who was playing off handicap seven. Ondigo posted 16 and 15 points in the first and second nine for a total of 31 stableford points.

Staff winner was Peter Mugo, who was playing off handicap 28. Mugo managed a total of 33 stableford points after posting 18 and 15 points in the opening and closing nine respectively.
