Baptisim of fire for Shabana as AFC Leopards pick first win of the season

Ulinzi Stars suplicate before FKF Premier League match. [Jonah Onyang, Standard]

Ulinzi Stars registered a 4-0 win against Shabana in an FKF Premier League match played on Sunday at the Ulinzi Complex.

Two first half goals from Muchika Bonaventure and Bikokwa Mark gave Ulinzi the lead before half time.

The second half saw Enosh Ochieng score a brace. First of his goals came in the 53rd minute and the second 10 minutes after.

The defeat saw Sammy Okoth resign as coach of Shabana.

Elsewhere, KCB secured an away win against Nairobi City stars. The bankers took the early lead with goals from Nicholas Kipkirui and Wesonga Haniff in the 10th and 18th minutes respectively however, Etemesi Kelvin pulled one back before the half time break. First half ended with KCB holding a 2-1 advantage.

Second half saw KCB stretch their lead with Francis Kahiro putting the ball in the back of the net in the 57th minute and Namasaka Danson completing the victory with a fourth goal in the 77th minute.

In other matches, AFC Leopards get their first win of the season against Nzoia Sugar. Brian Yakhama secured his side’s win with a 34th minute goal meanwhile Kariobangi Sharks’ Julius Masaba sole goal in stoppage time gave his side a win.

Posta Rangers still stay top of the table rankings with Gor Mahia in second place.
