Kakamega Homeboyz are 2023 FKF Cup champions

Kakamega Homeboyz qualified for the Caf Confederation Cup after narrowly defeating Tusker 1-0 in the finals of the FKF Cup played at Kasarani Stadium.

Kevin Amwayi's second half goal was enough to hand Homeboyz their maiden title as Tusker who also missed out on the FKF Premier League title last week went home empty handed.

Gor Mahia won a record extending 20th KPL title last month after pipping the brewers on the last day of the season. 

While Gor celebrated with their fans after ending their two-year trophy drought, Tusker were mourning losing a ticket to play in the Caf Champions League. 

However, Robert Matano was left with one rout to play in the continental games, win the FKF Cup to play in the Confederation Cup. 

Homeboyz however had other plans after ruining Matano's plans yesterday. The Kakamega-based outfit will now play in the second tier African football tourney for the first time next season. 

Gor Mahia will represent Kenya in the Champions League.
