Jurgen Klopp has rubbished suggestions his side’s title charge could be disrupted

Jurgen Klopp has laughed off claims Liverpool could miss out on winning a first Premier League title due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

The Reds were reportedly given 'no guarantees' that they would lift the trophy at the end of the campaign if the virus curtailed the competition mid-season.

But Klopp has played this down as a concern, telling the press: "Liverpool fans are not silly enough to believe these things."

English football has not yet to been affected by Coronavirus, but Newcastle have taken steps to fight the threat by instructing players to avoid shaking hands with each other in training.

Liverpool lead the Premier League table by 22 points and are 12 points away from winning their first English top-flight title in 30 years.
