Clarke Oduor got 41% of the fans' votes following his good performances in January.
After being named player of the Month, the 20 year-old told Barnsleyfc.co.uk: “I'd like to say a big thank you to the fans for the votes. It's nice to get such recognition and they've been great since I made my debut. It helps to have their support.”
"We really appreciate their backing, especially through this tough period and we hope to start putting it right and climbing the table to safety."
The naturally left-footed youngster was born on June 25, 1999, and started his career at Leeds United academy, going on to sign a professional contract with the senior team in 2017, where he was handed the number 54 shirt.
He made his senior debut for Leeds in January 2019, coming on as an 85th-minute substitute during a defeat to Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup third round.
A month later, he signed a contract extension with Leeds– seeing his deal extended until 2020, with the option of extending for another year.
In July 2019, Oduor made the cut into Leeds’ 16-man team for the pre-season tour of Australia.
Barnsley signed left-back Clarke Oduor from Leeds United in this year’s summer.
