Leicester braced for transfer of midfield duo at the end of their amazing season

League leaders Leicester expect to lose one of Riyad Mahrez(L) and N’Golo Kante(R) this summer

The Foxes fear they won't be able to hang onto both midfielders as clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United, Spurs, Barcelona and Juventus lurk

League leaders Leicester expect to lose one of Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante this summer.

The Foxes fear they won’t be able to hang onto all of the key players who have inspired them to the brink of a historic first top-flight title.

And one of their star midfielders is most likely to leave, even if Claudio Ranieri’s Champions League-bound men go on to win the title.

Winger Mahrez, 25, has attracted interest from Manchester United, Tottenham and Spain's European champions Barcelona.

The Algerian has bagged 16 goals already, and is certain to be one of the contenders for the top-flight's Player of the Season award.

Leicester stand to make a huge profit if £25million-rated Mahrez is the one who leaves, having signed him for a bargain £400,000 from Le Havre of France in 2014.

Central midfielder Kante, has been a revelation since his £5.6m move from French club Caen last sumer, and is widely viewed as the signing of the season.

The 25-year-old's tireless displays have made him a target for Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Italian champions Juventus.

Leicester want Kante - who made his France debut and scored for his country in the last unternational break - to sign a new deal but, ominously, he has refused to guarantee he will still be at the Midlands club next season.

He said last week: “I will fight for Leicester this season and next season we never know and we will see.

“At this moment I am focused on Leicester. We have to finish well this season but I don’t mind about [being linked with] the other clubs.”
