United could drop Morgan Schneiderlin interest

The Red Devils could end their pursuit of Morgan Schneiderlin on the back of reaching an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign Bastian Schweinsteiger, according to the Daily Express.

United were understood to be on the brink of sealing the Southampton man's signature, but are unwilling to pay what Saints want for him.

The south coast club have already rejected a £20m offer from the Old Trafford club for the Frenchman, as they value him at close to £30m.

United are unwilling to go that high, and their need to bring Schneiderlin in has been lessened by the recruitment of Schweinsteiger, who plays a similar role to the 25-year-old.
