Bandari planning life in top flight league

Bandari have mathematically qualified for the next season’s Kenyan Premier League (KPL) and only a miracle can stop them from bouncing back to the top flight.

The Coast football fraternity is now assured of watching live top football next year courtesy of Bandari.

Bidco who had threatened Bandari’s road to the KPL next season faulted on Sunday after they were upset 4-1 by Kenya Revenue Authority while Bandari had beaten Congo JMJ 2-0 on Saturday.

Bidco’s defeat allowed Mahakama to overtake them to the second slot as the league goes to the wire.

Bandari enjoy nine-point gap between them and the second placed Mahakama with three matches to go.

However, for Mahakama to be crowned the champions, they need to win the remaining three matches with more than 18 goals and pray Bandari lose all their three matches, which will be at home.

The dockers have three matches remaining against Green Berets, Kibera Celtics and Sparki Youth all of which will be played at the Mbaraki Sports Club.

Bandari coach Rashid Shedu in an interview said that it would be almost impossible for them to fail to qualify for the KPL.

“Mathematically, Bandari has bounced back to the Premier League and Coast football fraternity can now relax and prepare to start attending Bandari’s home matches at Mbaraki Sports Club, “ said joyful Shedu who once handled the junior national Harambee Stars.

Shedu said it would be unimaginable for his team to lose the remaining matches at home.
