The church has disappointed and let down the Kenyan people

Living

The Kenyan church has disappointed and let down the Kenyan people. Gone are the days when retired Archbishop Raphael Ndingi Mwana a’Nzeki and the Reverend Timothy Njoya led the church in chastising the evils of the dictatorial regime.

It is appalling that the current church leadership is silent at a very critical period in the nation.

Millions in development cash are being siphoned yet the church is quiet.

There has not been a proper explanation on use of the Eurobond proceeds yet the church is silent.

The ongoing corruption drama in the Devolution ministry has reached fever-pitch levels yet the church has been a spectator at best.

The rising political hatred has gone unaddressed by the church.

One wonders what the church is busy doing.

Now is the time for the church to speak with impartiality or else it will lose its relevance.

If the church continues to betray Kenyans with its deafening silence, its moral authority will be eroded beyond repair.
