A young man has been arraigned in court to face violent robbery charges.
The court heard that Collins Luseka 22 was among a gang that attacked and robbed a Criminal Investigations officer on August 16 along Juja road. They gang which was reportedly armed with knives robbed Jairus Kisuli of Sh70,000 and mobile phone, and threatened to harm him.
Kisuli told police he was stuck in traffic along the busy road in his personal car in company of two other people at around 6pm when the gang struck robbing them. Kisuli who was armed alighted and shot in the air to scare the fleeing youths. Luseka was arrested by a mob as other two took off with cash and the complainant’s mobile phone.
Luseka denied the charges and was set free on surety bond of Sh500,000. The case will be heard on December 17, 2015.
