The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has opened a regional office in Isiolo to serve five upper Eastern counties.
The office, located in lower Kiwanjani estate in Isiolo town, will serve Tharaka-Nithi, Meru, Isiolo, Marsabit and Samburu counties.
Opening the office yesterday, EACC Chief Executive Officer Halakhe Waqo said: "In an effort to devolve our services closer to the people, EACC has established offices in Garissa, Nyeri, Machakos, Mombasa, Malindi, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu and Nairobi. Today, we are opening the branch in Isiolo that will serve five counties." He said the commission will in coming years open offices in all the 47 counties to fight graft.
The function was attended by governors Godana Doyo (Isiolo) and Ukur Yattani (Marsabit), MPs Joseph Samal (Isiolo North) and Abdullahi Banticha (Isiolo South), among others.
The commission will also hold a five-day anti-corruption forum in Isiolo.
