JAM TART HEARTS
Ingredients
100g of shop-bought sweet dessert pastry
4 tbsp of strawberry jam
2 tbsp of toasted desiccated cocount
1 tsp almond essence
Directions
Preheat the oven to gas mark 6 or 200C.
Grease two five-inch heart shaped loose bottomed tins. On a floured board roll the pastry and line the tins with it.
Prick the bottom with a fork. With the trimmings make two small hearts and then put them all in the fridge for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile stir together the jam, coconut and almond essences and then spoon into the pastry cases and place the small heart on top. Then bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the pastry is light golden brown.
