With sneer and arrogant laughter, a female Member of Parliament recently told off her male colleagues who had dared her to clarify if she was having an extramarital affair with a prominent African politician. "So what? It’s not your problem who I choose to date or even sleep around with," she is quoted to have said.
The joke was stirred by a blind article which run in this column sometimes ago — after rumours went out that a Kenyan MP was dating a top shot in the continental’s political circles.
Meanwhile, a top director with one of Kenya’s biggest mobile communications company has been fired. The officer was fired for alleged sexual abuse in the office.
It is said that one hurt and jilted girl wrote an anonymous email and copied it to all employees and directors, with lurid details of their sexscapade.
As the email went round the office, more girls came out, claiming they had also been promised salary increment by the finance boss in return for sexual favours — a promise the boss didn’t honour. The disgraced finance director was then given an option of honourably resigning or getting fired.
